I uploaded a personal site and I don't see it. Why not?

If a newly uploaded site doesn't appear at http://mydomain.tld/~user then check two things:

  • You deleted or successfully overwrote the default index.html file in your personal web directory.
  • You uploaded the site to your personal web directory and not your personal directory. (i.e. check you changed directory to "web" after connecting via FTP.)
