How do I upload my web site?If you built your site in FrontPage, use Publish... If your site builder uses FTP, use your site administrator user name and password, and set the initial directory to "/web". Should I use FrontPage for my web store?No, FrontPage is not sufficiently secure. Ask us about e-commerce solutions. How do I take payments online?You need either a merchant credit card account and a real-time payment gateway, or an all-in-one service like PayPal.
Do you have a secure server I can use?Ask us about providing a secure server account. I created an SSL certificate but I get a warning every time I access my site using HTTPS!Your browser doesn't trust the issuer of the certificate (you), so it warns you when you visit the site. I can't see a file I just uploaded to our anonymous FTP site!This is a security feature to prevent people distributing stolen software using your anonymous FTP site. Files cannot be seen once they've been uploaded. You can still find them by logging into FTP as the site administrator. How do I create new user accounts?Log into the site control panel at http://yourdomain.tld/siteadmin/ and click on "Add User." How do I send all e-mail to one user?Set one of the user's e-mail aliases to "@site.domain.tld" For example: "@www.mydomain.com" I can't create a user named webmaster!Someone else has already created a user with that name. There can only be one user with a given name on the whole server. Try creating a user with a unique name. How do I create a user whose e-mail address is webmaster@mydomain.tld?Create a user and assign him/her that e-mail address as an e-mail alias. What's the relationship between user accounts, e-mail aliases, and e-mail addresses?Each user account has a mailbox and a personal directory, and can create files on the server. Each account has at least one e-mail address. E-mail aliases are additional e-mail addresses you assign to a user account. What's a site administrator?A site administrator is a user who can log into the site control panel to manage users, mailing lists, and site settings. How many site administrators can I have?Any or all of your users can be site administrators. Why did you disable one of my CGI scripts?We reserve the right to disable any part of a customer site that is, or can be, exploited to send spam, steal information, or gain unauthorized access to the server. Why isn't my CGI script working?Check that the script is executable. (File permissions should be 711 or similar.) What user does my CGI script execute as?CGI scripts run under cgiwrap, so they execute as the script's owner. How do I view site statistics?Open http://sitename/stats/ in your browser and type in your user name and password. When are site statistics updated?Approximately 4 AM every day. How do I get my raw server logs?Log into your site using FTP. The logs are in the directory "/logs" When are the raw logs updated?Approximately 4 AM every day. What's the relationship between the "Site Usage" button in the control panel and the site statistics?The "Site Usage" button uses the Analog statistics package. The site statistics at http://site.yourdomain.tld/stats/ are generated by Webalizer. |
