Setup: Windows NT 4.0

  1. Open dial-up networking (Start\Programs\Accessories\Dial-Up Networking)
  2. Create a new phonebook entry. If you're using a laptop, or have several local access numbers, you may want to include the location of the access number in the name.

  1. Type in the phone number.

  2. If you have several local access numbers, press the Alternates button and enter them there.

  3. Select the modem you'll be using.
  4. Click on the "Server" tab and enter the server details.

  5. The server type should be PPP.
  6. Only TCP/IP should be selected in Network Protocols (unless you're using a gaming server that requires IPX/SPX)
  7. Don't enable software compression or PPP LCP extensions.
  8. Click on TCP/IP Settings...

  9. Leave Script settings at the default values. There's no need to run a script to log onto our service.

  10. Leave Security settings at the default values.

  11. Leave X.25 settings at their default values

  12. Your finished phonebook entry should look something like this. Make sure the phone number is a local call for you.

  13. Now try connecting. Press the dial button and type your username and password into the dialog. Don't forget the @elirion.net suffix.
