Windows 3.1
Due to the small remaining number of Windows 3.1 (and 3.11) computers, we cannot provide support for these old operating systems.
However, you can successfully use Windows 3.x with Elirion's dial-up service. Here are a few pointers to help you through setting up the connection.
- Windows 3.x did not come with Dial-Up Networking. The most popular way of adding Internet access was to use Trumpet Winsock, a shareware dialer. Download the software from the Trumpet website, and if it works for you, pay to register it.
- Configure Trumpet Winsock for PPP. Set the IP address of your computer to 0.0.0.0 so that it is assigned by the dial-in server. The name server addresses must be set to:
- 216.126.128.40
- 216.126.136.250
- Fill in your username and password. Make sure you add the @elirion.net to the end of the username. (As far as we know, Trumpet does not support MLPP, so there's no point in buying a second line.)
- If you can dial into our network, but cannot authenticate, call or e-mail customer support and ask if your account is registering at our RADIUS servers. If not, you have a setting left to tweak.
